Amity Soccer Club

U9/U10 Development Program

U11 thru U14 Recreational Travel and Competitive Travel Programs

The Amity Soccer Club is a joint program run by representatives of the Orange Soccer Association (OSA) and Woodbridge Soccer Club (WSC) to offer young players development soccer and travel soccer for players from Orange, Woodbridge and Bethany.  The collective effort of OSA and WSC has resulted in us being able to field more teams and provide every child the appropriate environment in which to continue learning and playing this great game.

U9/U10 Development Soccer

The U9/U10 Development soccer program is designed to provide a bridge between Recreational soccer and Competitive travel soccer. Teams are provided with a full time professional coach and will practice once a week and play one game a week. The games are played against surrounding towns from the greater New Haven area. Approximately half of the games will be home games. There are no tryouts or evaluations for development teams; much like recreational soccer all players wishing to participate are welcome and all players will have an equal opportunity to participate in the games.  The development program does however differ in that there is a greater expectation to attend practices on a regular basis and participants will be required to purchase the team uniform at a cost of ($70.00). Many players choose to also participate in their town recreational program in addition to the development program; Participation in the Recreational program is encouraged but is not a requirement.  Participants must be born between 8/1/99 and 7/31/01.

U11 thru U14 Competitive and Recreational Travel Soccer.

The Competitive and Recreational Travel programs are designed to offer soccer to older players of All levels.

Travel teams participate in league play within the South Central District of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA).  Games are played against teams within the greater New Haven area, with half of the scheduled games played at home.  The location of home games and practices (usually 2 practices a week) will be split between WSC and OSA fields.   There may also be additional opportunities to play in local tournaments. The existing travel team coaches along with additional soccer professionals will be coordinating the player evaluations.  Players will be grouped on teams by their demonstrated ability within their appropriate age bracket. The stronger players will be placed on the Competitive travel teams. The remaining players will play on the Recreational travel teams. Recreational travel team players are provided with equal playing opportunities during the games much like in house recreational programs.

Players wishing to participate in either the Competitive or Recreational Travel program are required to attend at least one, ideally two, evaluation sessions for their age group the dates of which are listed on other side.

Starting with the Fall 2010 season, registrations will now be made online at the Amity Soccer Club  website:  www.amitysoccerclub.org
